SSH — trusting the server and logging in with a key

Not running Starting usually ~20 s

Step 6 of 9 · on a machine · 4 min

Give key login back

A week later deploy is refused again: the key was put in place once more. Find the cause yourself, without ready-made commands.

The client prints Permission denied on the server's word, and the server keeps the details in its own log. That is how it was at the start of the lesson, but this time the login is broken differently. Leave the key and the server settings alone: fix whatever makes the server distrust the file. You are done when a fresh login prints deploy.

Exercise · do it

Give deploy key login back

The key for deploy was put in place again, and ssh training id -un is refused again. Find the cause from the server log and fix it so the login works. Leave the key in the file and the sshd settings unchanged.
