The machine has about 300 MiB available, and the lab-thumbs service needs about 100 MiB for its work. What stops the restart loop?

$ sudo journalctl -u lab-thumbs -n 4
lab-thumbs.service: A process of this unit has been killed by the OOM killer.
lab-thumbs.service: Main process exited, code=killed, status=9/KILL
lab-thumbs.service: Failed with result 'oom-kill'.
lab-thumbs.service: Scheduled restart job, restart counter is at 3.
$ systemctl show -p MemoryMax lab-thumbs
MemoryMax=67108864

Remove Restart=on-failure from the unit.
Raise the service's MemoryMax= with a drop-in, for example to 128M, and run daemon-reload.
Restart the service with systemctl restart.
Drop the machine's cache to free memory.
