Why did awk print 0?

$ head -n 3 sizes.csv
file,bytes
log1,500
log2,700
$ awk '{ s += $2 } END { print s }' sizes.csv
0

• A awk cannot add up numbers from a file.
• B The bytes header is not a number, and awk reset the sum on it.
• C Without -F, awk splits a line on spaces, and a CSV line has none — there is no second field.
• D END runs before the first line, while the sum is still zero.
